Design and Properties of Coal Gangue-Based Geopolymer Mortar

The feasibility of preparing coal gangue-based geopolymer mortar (CGBGM) with composite-activated gangue was experimentally explored in this paper. effects water-to-binder ratio (W/B), alkali content (A), and slag (S) on the fluidity performances CGBGM were investigated. ANOVA method employed to evaluate significance level influenced factors. Moreover, microstructure, element compositions, qualitative microanalysis at various curing ages verified by ESEM-EDS. Test results denoted that mechanical properties are superior ordinary Portland cement (OPCM). flexural compressive strength rapidly increases before 7 d then tends slow afterward. According impact degree CGBGM, S is ranked first, followed A, finally W/B. specimens 40% increased 45.97% 90.75%, respectively, compared control group. However, A W/B have little effect strength. In addition, hydration productions filled crevice healed entrapped microcracks hardened paste increase ages, forming a dense microstructure. Ca/Si decreased from 0.5 3 0.06 28 d, Ca/Al 0.25 0.05 d. Finally, difference drying shrinkage behavior between OPCM systematically analyzed.
